What is my user agent?
Your browser's User-Agent string is shown in full below, copyable in one tap, with a plain-language breakdown of what it says.

How to read your result
The User-Agent is a short text your browser sends with every web request, and a page can read it as navigator.userAgent. RFC 9110 section 10.1.5 says servers use it to identify interoperability problems, to tailor responses to a browser's limits, and for analytics about browser and operating system use. It is a list of product tokens and comments with no guaranteed structure.
The breakdown above the string is a best-effort reading of those tokens, so treat it as a guess. Most browsers start with Mozilla/5.0 for historical compatibility, and many contain the words "Chrome" and "Safari" even when they are neither, so the order of checks matters: Edge, Opera and Samsung Internet are matched before Chrome.
Strings are getting less detailed. Chrome's User-Agent reduction trims what navigator.userAgent, appVersion and platform return, and the full details moved to User-Agent Client Hints. If your browser supports them, the brands and platform from navigator.userAgentData are listed too.

Frequently asked questions
What is a user agent string?
It is a line of text that identifies your browser, rendering engine and operating system to the websites you visit. Browsers send it in the User-Agent HTTP header and expose it to scripts as navigator.userAgent.
Why does my Chrome say Safari and Mozilla?
For compatibility. Early websites served content based on those names, so browsers kept including them. Chromium-based browsers still list Mozilla, AppleWebKit, Chrome and Safari tokens.
Why does it show Windows 10 when I use Windows 11?
The string does not distinguish them. Microsoft states that User-Agent strings will not be updated to tell Windows 11 from 10, and that the Client Hints platform version (13.0.0 or above means Windows 11) should be used. The operating system checker on this site reads that value where the browser offers it.
Can I change my user agent?
Developer tools in most browsers can override it for testing, and extensions can change it. Doing so does not change what your browser actually is, and some sites behave differently or break.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. This page only reads the string from your own browser. It is not stored or transmitted by this page.
Private by design
This tool reads values from your own browser and shows them on this page. The tool does not store them, send them to TNAADO or pass them to any other service. What your browser reports can be reduced or changed by privacy settings and extensions, so treat it as what the browser says, not as proof.
