Thermal resistance formula

For a flat layer, R = L ÷ (kA) in K/W. The steady heat-transfer rate is Q̇ = ΔT ÷ R. This model assumes constant conductivity, a uniform area, and negligible contact and convection resistances.

Heat-transfer note

Real assemblies often need contact, convection, radiation, and multiple-layer resistances included separately.
