RV and Trailer Calculators
Camper leveling blocks.
Read the tilt on a level or phone app, enter the wheel spacing and your block thickness, and see how far to raise the low side and how many layers to stack. Runs in your browser; nothing is sent or stored.

Lift = distance between wheels x tan(tilt angle). A 3 degree side tilt on a 70 in track needs 3.67 in of lift under the low-side wheels, which is 3 layers of 1.5 in boards.
Worked example
Side tilt 3 degrees, track width 70 in: tan(3 degrees) = 0.0524, so lift = 70 x 0.0524 = 3.67 in. With 1.5 in boards, 3.67 / 1.5 = 2.45, rounded up to 3 layers (4.5 in), a 5.2% slope.
How it works
Lift = spacing x tan(angle); layers = lift / block thickness, rounded up. This is plain trigonometry. Measure the tilt with the camper's own level or a phone level app lying on the floor, enter which side is low, and raise the low-side wheels by the lift shown. Layers round up, so the last layer may over-correct slightly; drive on, check, and adjust.
Safety: use blocks or ramps rated for the weight, set them on firm level ground, chock the wheels and set the parking brake before you rely on them, and never get under a camper held up only by leveling blocks or stabilizer jacks. Stabilizer jacks stop movement; they are not for lifting. For an absorption refrigerator, check the maker's allowed tilt.
This tool uses plain arithmetic and your own figures; no published standard sits behind it. Planning aid only, not professional, engineering or safety advice. Your vehicle, trailer, tire, battery and boat manuals and the weight labels on your equipment come first; when in doubt, weigh it or ask a qualified professional.
FAQ
How do I calculate how high to raise one side of an RV?
Multiply the track width by the tangent of the tilt angle. The result is how much the low-side wheels must rise.
Which spacing do I use?
Side to side, the track width: centre of the left tire to centre of the right tire. Front to back, the wheelbase on a motorhome or the hitch-to-axle distance on a trailer.
How do I level a trailer front to back?
Use the tongue jack once the trailer is unhitched or supported as the manual allows. Blocks are mainly for side-to-side leveling.
Should I chock the wheels?
Yes. Chock the wheels and set the parking brake before you rely on leveling blocks, and do not climb under a camper supported only by blocks or stabilizer jacks.
How accurate is a phone level app?
Good enough for a first estimate, but calibrate it on a surface you know is level and re-check with the camper's own level after driving onto the blocks.
